Rich Carter is a native of New Canaan, CT, who is currently a coach with Premier Players Lacrosse Academy, a program that conducts high level lacrosse camps around the country.
Previously, Carter spent four seasons coaching varsity lacrosse at Canterbury School in New Milford, CT. While at Canterbury, he worked primarily with the defense and goalies. In 2005, he coached Gordie Cohen, a four year starter in goal at Washington College, who was named a 2009 Division III, First Team All-American.
During his playing career, Carter was a standout defenseman for Villanova University from 1996-2000. In his senior year he anchored the defense which helped the Wildcats to a 9-5 record and a 21st overall ranking. Carter went on to play post-collegiately for six seasons with the Connecticut Valley Lacrosse Club of the American Lacrosse League.
During the school year, Carter and his wife Leslie reside in Christiansted, U.S.V.I., where he is the Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher at The Good Hope School, a small independent day school for students in grades K - 12.
